President Bola Tinubu has said that fewer people should go on trips with government officials, both within the country and abroad.

President Bola Tinubu has told government officials to cut down on the number of people traveling with them, both within Nigeria and abroad. The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, announced this during a press briefing in Abuja. The directive includes a 60% reduction for all government agencies, including the president, vice president, and first lady’s offices.

For international trips, ministers are now limited to bringing only four of their staff or appointees. Heads of agencies can only have two staff members with them. The total number of individuals allowed to travel with the President is now capped at 20, while the first lady is limited to five. The vice president’s entourage for international trips is also limited to five individuals.

For local trips within Nigeria, the president can have up to 25 staff members, while the first lady is allowed 10. The vice president and his wife are limited to 15 and 10 staff members, respectively, for domestic trips.

The president is keen on curbing government spending and wants officials to manage resources more responsibly. This directive applies to all federal agencies, emphasizing the need for prudence and cost management in government affairs.
