The NIMC has released updated guidelines for changing the date of birth, emphasizing that this alteration is a one-time opportunity in a person’s lifetime.
The recent guidelines released by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and communicated through their verified official channel, specifically on Sunday, the 24th of December 2023, outline a significant change in the application process. According to these guidelines, individuals seeking certain services from NIMC will now need to possess an electronic civil registration and vital statistics system (e-CRVS) certificate, and this certificate is to be obtained from the National Population Commission (NPC).
To change your birthdate, follow the new rules from NIMC. Send copies of ID and the modification application letter to the DG/CEO, NIMC. Remember, you can only modify your birthdate once in your lifetime, and only at NIMC enrolment centers. Don’t use NIMC license agents for this—they can’t do birthdate changes or other modifications. Be cautious!
